Peoples Federal Savings Bank
to open full-service Norwood branch

BRIGHTON, MASSACHUSETTS, February 4, 2005 … Thomas J. Leetch, president and chief executive officer of Peoples Federal Savings Bank, announced today that the Bank will open a full-service branch in Norwood. Expected opening date is April 1, 2005.

“Our presence in this new community, Norwood, will enlarge the footprint of Peoples Federal Savings Bank, providing more convenience for our current customers and bringing the outstanding Peoples Federal brand to an even broader customer base,” explained Leetch.

The 2,000-square-foot Norwood site at 61 Lenox Street was originally the home of Bay State Federal Savings Bank, and then later Compass and Sovereign banks. In addition to ample free parking, it will feature a drive-up teller window, 24-hour walk-up vestibule ATM and night depository. Branch manager Annette Spring will work with a staff of two customer service representatives and three to five tellers.

The new Norwood office will be the fifth in the Peoples Federal Savings Bank branch network, and the first in Norfolk County. Other branches are located in Allston, Brighton, Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. The Bank also maintains four 24-hour ATM locations in Brighton, Watertown, and Waltham.

Peoples Federal Savings Bank is a federally chartered institution established in 1888. The Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
