$10,000 gift to Caritas Norwood Hospital from Peoples Federal Savings Bank

New to the neighborhood, Bank says ‘Hello’ with $10,000 donation

NORWOOD, MASSACHUSETTS, November 18, 2005 … Peoples Federal Savings Bank may be the newest community bank in Norwood, but the 117-year-old institution undoubtedly made a favorable first impression with a gift of $10,000 to nearby Caritas Norwood Hospital.

Thomas J. Leetch, president and chief executive officer of Peoples Federal Savings Bank, presented the gift recently to John B. Chessare, MD, president of Caritas Norwood Hospital at a ceremony at the Bank’s new Norwood branch office at 61 Lenox Street.

“We are extremely pleased by the warm welcome we have received from local residents and businesses,” said Leetch. “It confirmed our belief that this community would appreciate the outstanding brand of Peoples Federal service that our customers in other locations enjoy.”

The Norwood office is the fifth in the Peoples Federal Savings Bank branch network, and the first in Norfolk County. Other branches are located in Allston, Brighton, Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. The Bank also maintains an online banking presence at www.pfsb.com.

Golf Gift
The $10,000 donation to Caritas Norwood Hospital was raised at the annual Peoples Federal Savings Bank Charity Golf Classic at Wollaston Golf Club this summer.

“This donation to Caritas Norwood Hospital is really our gift to the community,” said Leetch. “We are happy to contribute to an institution that is devoted to the health and well-being of our newest neighbors.”

The 264-bed Caritas Norwood Hospital is known for its emergency, cardiology, advanced surgical, endoscopic and ob/gyn services and is a member of Caritas Christi Health Care, the second largest health care system in New England.

Peoples Federal Savings Bank, established in 1888 under federal charter, is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
