BRIGHTON, MASSACHUSETTS, October 18, 2006 … Representatives of Peoples Federal Savings Bank visited the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Boston recently to help serve the evening meal – and to present Shelter officials with a $10,000 donation.

The funds were raised at the Annual Peoples Federal Savings Bank Charity Golf Classic held at the Wollaston Golf Club in Milton earlier this year. The Golf Classic raises funds in support of the Bank’s ongoing commitment to help enhance the quality of life of in the communities it serves.

To date, through its Charity Golf Classic, Peoples Federal has contributed over $90,000 to local charitable, civic and educational causes, according to Thomas J. Leetch, president and chief executive officer. Leetch was among those serving the Saturday night meal at the Shelter for Homeless Veterans, joined by Maurice H. Sullivan, Jr., Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, and 20 Bank employees.

Recognized as one of the most effective private veteran’s transition programs in the country, the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans helps men and women veterans who are addressing the challenges of addiction, trauma, severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unemployment, and who commit themselves to sobriety, non-violence, and working for personal change.

Peoples Federal Savings Bank, a federally chartered institution established in 1888, has five full-service offices located in Allston, Brighton, Jamaica Plain, Norwood and West Roxbury, and offers online banking services at www.pfsb.com.
